Andrew Tate was imprisoned after converting to Islam; is this a false accusation?

Photos showed #Andrew #Tate and his brother #Tristan arriving at court in #Romania on Tuesday.

They sought release from jail after being arrested in December in a human-trafficking investigation.

Tate was handcuffed to his brother in the images, and carried a book Insider identified as a Quran.

Analysis of the photos matched the book jacket to a translation by M. A. Abdel Haleem, giving an English version alongside the original Arabic.

On Tuesday, Khan posted photos noting Tate holding the Quran, which Tate's profile retweeted.

Tate's conversion sparked worry among some Muslims, who said it was damaging to the community to be aligned with Tate's overt misogyny.

Controversial online influencer Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation.

Tate - who was detained alongside his brother Tristan, had his house raided in the capital, Bucharest.

A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests to the BBC.

The former kickboxer rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from the British TV show Big Brother over a video that appeared to show him attacking a woman.

He went on to gain notoriety online, with Twitter banning him for saying women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted. He has since been reinstated.

Despite social media bans, he gained popularity, particularly among young men, by promoting an ultra-masculine, ultra-luxurious lifestyle.

He regularly appeared in videos with a fleet of expensive sports cars, on private jets, and enjoying expensive holidays.

But at the end of last year, something happened to the most popular face on the internet.

Andrew Tate converted to Islam. "My faith was always taught to celebrate when someone joined our ranks. " "More of us:” That was the rationale behind the joy that people exhibit whenever someone decides to become a Muslim. The "us versus them" narrative eliminates any inconvenient questions that might arise and muddy the fabricated sense of solidarity. As a result, we always welcome new brothers into our midst with open arms.

Although I genuinely believe that no one should have the authority to judge a person’s intentions when joining a new faith, I think that by considering Tate’s words, we have clues as to why he chose Islam.

Before we can wag our fingers and dismiss Tate’s narrative as misogynistic garbage, we should first examine it.

Andrew Tate, a former Kickboxing champion who rose to prominence after briefly becoming the most Googled person by posting controversial videos about his beliefs, most of which deal with masculine-feminine dynamics, His complete disregard for any form of political correctness granted him the position of "anti-woke hero par excellence." His views include, but are not limited to, his belief that women are men’s property. The reason is that women are given away by their fathers to their future husbands, relinquishing their maiden names to take their husband’s family name.

He also believes that an 18-year-old woman is more beautiful than a 25-year-old. This is because an 18-year-old has less, or preferably no, sexual experience in comparison to a 25-year-old woman. He also believes that a man should have authority over “his” woman since he has a duty to protect her and can’t fulfill that duty unless she submits to him.

These points of view allude to why feminists are furious with. However, on closer inspection, one could claim that Tate merely articulates entrenched and existing biases against women. Also, we may be offered clues as to why Tate chose Islam.

The issue of property seems to be the most offensive. Should a woman be considered a man’s property? Ideally, of course, no.

A video on social media showed Tate and his brother being led away from a luxury villa.

A spokesperson for Tate told the Daily Mirror that he could not provide details relating to the arrest. "However, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can," he added.

Later, a tweet was sent from Andrew Tate's Twitter account alluding to the 1999 movie The Matrix, a film he regularly refers to in his posts.

"The Matrix sent their agents," the post said. The account also retweeted Matrix memes posted by Twitter owner Elon Musk.

Since we can’t judge Tate’s faith, we can only hope that in studying Islam he can discover beauty and mercy that extend far beyond his existing beliefs.
